The church can't afford to exclude our children from corporate worship. How beneficial it is for our children to sit under the Word of God preached, to join God's people in song, to hear sin confessed, and faith proclaimed. However, as any Christian parent knows, it is often during the sermon that our young children begin to squirm and our teenagers get distracted. Here to help are Jill Connelly's very practical and various aids. Sermon Notes for Kids and Sermon Notes for Teens are simple and helpful tools for one of the most essential elements of Christian parenting: helping our children to worship in the midst of God's gathered people. A Christian parent would do well to put these books to use for the good of their children.

I praise God for the idea He has given Jill to create a resource that helps parents share in the joy of worship with their children! Sermon Notes For Kids is a tool that helps my children to interact with the Scripture we are studying during a sermon. It helps to engage their mind and heart as they listen to the preaching of God's Word. This tool has helped me to confidently invite my children to worship with me! "Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!" Psalm 34:3

I highly recommend you purchase Sermon Notes for Kids by Jill Connelly. this spiral notebook (journal style) is a fantastic way to engage younger children (ages 6-12) during the "big church" sermon. Not only do I recommend this book, I recommend that you sit with your children during the church service! What a shame it is to think that most churched kids rarely ever worship with their parents during their first 18 years on earth. This is a fantastic tool.

You've  just got to see this to grasp how valuable it is! Sermon Notes for Kids is an ingenious collection of note-taking ideas, sure to engage many a disinterested child in the sermon. Seven genuinely "kid-tested and approved" ideas are here, in a handy spiral-bound volume that may well become a family keepsake, as you see the progress in your child's sermon listening. It's brilliant, it's practical, and it'll help your child become a better listener and maybe even form a more teachable spirit.

What I love about this book is that it provides such a variety of options to choose from, and each page is formatted nicely and pleasing to the eye. It is also spiral bound so it lays flat for note taking. It made me want to grab this book for myself and begin filling it up! If you have wanted to encourage your children to be more involved in the Sunday morning worship service, you will want to grab a copy of this book! I wholeheartedly recommend this resource!

There are many who believe that the preaching of God's Word is "over the head" of many children. As a result, many churches remove children from corporate worship. As a pastor, I understand that there may be benefits to specialized children's worship programs, but I also believe that children can learn and be powerfully impacted by the preaching of God's Word in corporate worship. In Sermon Notes for Kids, Jill Connelly provides a variety of helpful resources that encourage children to listen attentively in corporate worship. Through varied note taking activities, children listen for key words and thoughts throughout a sermon. Using these templates, children will learn sermon notes taking skills that will benefit them for years to come.

I wish this had been around 25 years ago when my children were young. I had them use scrap paper to write key words and illustrate sermons. This book would have been such a treasure!

A dear friend and dedicated mother wrote and published Sermon Notes for Kids. Her children have a phenomenal understanding of the Word. I have witnessed them taking notes in church and they are engaged during the entire worship service. I am so excited about this publication.

Sermon Notes for Kids is a wonderful resource for parents who want to engage their children in worship at church together as a family! This workbook is creatively filled with lots of fun pages to keep the kids listening to the teaching of the sermon, as well as applying it to their hearts. It is a fabulous way to start the discipline of note taking and application of God's Word to young lives. A must have for children who attend "big church."
